Here in South Africa we have a very old (Afrikaans) traditional cook book called "Kook en Geniet", dating back to 1951 with very traditional South African food and cooking. Our family has one of the first copies and its so precious.
Absolutely! There's still so many recipes in it that I never veer from, or using another recipe from somewhere else as it just works and is the BEST version of it, especially the milk tart.
Oh and "Kook en Geniet" means "Cook and Enjoy", so fitting!
Still waiting on my copy of your book to arrive so that it can also be a staple in my home :)
I would love your thoughts on books in French. I am a French-speaking American. 🩷
finally read the "chocolat" series this year, so juicy and fun :)
Looooove the noma guide to fermentation!!
I have recently fell back in love with reading AND cooking and I’m so excited to read everything on this list!
