I personally don’t think you can go wrong with visiting Italy. It genuinely doesn’t matter where you touch down, whether it’s the north, south, mountain region, beach town, bustling city, in the summer, winter and so forth. It’s my favorite country in the world and Italian is also my favorite language in the world.
If I had to pick a city to visit, it would be Rome only because I spent a few formative years of my childhood there. It’s where I learned to love history, made friends from around the world, spent my afternoons running around Cinecittà… I really feel so lucky to have experienced this so I wanted to share with you some of my favorite nostalgic, hole in the wall, less-frequented spots.
While I have a list of my top gelato spots across the city below, I’ve also compiled a Gelato 101 - history, what makes it different to ice cream and so forth.
If you aren’t traveling to Rome any time soon but want to immerse yourself into a juicy Italian historical drama, just binge Rome on HBO as it’s my favorite series of all time.
