Recipe: At Home Jelly Gummies!

I love a gummy vitamin, a gummy bear, a gummy worm - you name it. It’s chewy, flavorful, and it comes in so many different shapes and sizes. Whether you want to be “pretend healthy” and get your daily dose of Vitamin C by starting off your day with a sugary sweet (guilty) or at the movie theater alternating popcorn and sour gummy bites, there are infinite types to choose from.

Jellies, gummies, whatever you choose to call them, are personally always a 10/10 experience in my book. That said, I had never tried to make them myself?? I’m not sure why that is but anyways, now I can’t stop. I’ve made a variety of different flavors - think tart cherry, blackcurrant, peach, clementine…

As of now, the top two flavors I always have on hand are a lemony ginger gummy and a creamy salty matcha gummy.

For my salted matcha gummy, I opt for my cinnamon vanilla salt which is FINALLY restocking next week on the 23rd ah!

The Recipes

Both of these recipes are for smaller batches so feel free to double them if you’d like.

Salty Matcha

As you may know if you’ve followed me for a while, I love my matcha salted. I find it gives the matcha a fresher mouthfeel with a nice sweet aftertaste because of the contrast. When testing out matcha jelly recipes, they just didn’t taste right but I couldn’t put my finger on it. And then it hit me, oops, I hadn’t been adding salt!

I’m going to be honest with you, if I have an early morning workout I find it tricky to eat or drink right before if I’m going to go into plank 5 minutes later. That is where these gummies come in! They’re light enough that I can pop one in prior to leaving my flat, get a caffeine kick, and start my day on a delicious note.
