Oh Prague, sweet sweet Prague! People are always surprised when I tell them how much time I’ve spent in this city. My mother lived here for a while when I was younger and I ended up moving to the city for 6 months in 2020. One of my best friends is also from the city so, yes, I do have many recs but I’ll try and keep them concise.
The city is beautiful, the people are welcoming, and the food is delicious. Another great reason to love Prague is that the prices are reasonable. Everything costs what you think it should cost.
My Top 3 Spots
Náplavka Farmer’s Market - this Saturday Farmer’s Market is a must when in Prauge. Located on the banks of the Vltava River, there you’ll be able to find local produce made my farmers, vintners etc. Prague gets freezing cold during the wintertime; however, there is a man at the market who sells the most overwhelmingly satisfying blackcurrant mulled wine in styrofoamcups that will warm you right UP.
Sansho - Super chic Asian “fusion” restaurant that uses fresh, seasonal ingredients. They serve these fried crab buns with a wasabi cream that I could eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If it’s the summertime, you’ll also be able to try their watermelon salad with pork belly. The dishes are simple but each element tastes like the best version of itself.
The James Joyce - don’t even try and come at me about this one until you’ve tried it. I live in London and I can assure you, this is hands down my FAVORITE pub in the entire world. Their fish and chips are out of this world (so are their chicken wings). Since it is Prague, wash these down with a Pilsner Urquell and all will be well in the world. I was never a beer girl until Prague but now I find myself craving a good Pilsner whenever I have spicy or fatty food. The Czech Republic will change you like that!
I can't even tell you how many of the same photo I have here - fish and chips, wings and Pilsner Urquell
One thing you should definitely try in general is an espresso tonic. This drink is a staple at any coffee shop and you guessed it, consists of espresso and tonic. It’s rocket fuel and incredibly addicting. My favorite spots for this will be listed below!
Now for some more restaurant options, great bakeries (who knew Prague was at the forefront of the baking scene), sights to visit, bars and more…
