There’s just something about a Miami morning: tossing on some flip flops and an XL t-shirt, feeling the humidity and heat before 8am, and walking to a nearby ventanita for a cafecito.
As a Californian, I love the food here because it’s fresh, perfect for hot weather, but has that extra exciting Latin flavor flare because of the unmistakable Cuban influence. Think coffee ventanitas, ropa vieja, key lime pie, plantains, and hotel restaurants with a view.
Coffee & Sweet Treats
Miami is basically mini Cuba so if you’re into coffee, stop by a ventanita which is a small sidewalk walk-up coffee window, where you order coffee, stand there, and drink it. Drive-thru but on foot.
What to order?
Cafecito (also called a colada): Sweetened shot of espresso topped with espumita aka sugar foam)
Cortadito: Espresso with a splash of milk.
Café con leche: Coffee and milk
