The US version of my book is finally available for preorder and although I am excited to share it with you, it feels so wrong at this present moment when such devastation is happening in LA… I can’t wait to meet you all on tour and to go back to my hometown!
This past week, I’ve been racking my brain as to how I can help LA despite being so far away. Of course, sharing donation links and resources was an obvious first choice, but I wanted it to be more interactive with you all. With TikTok’s US ban this Sunday, I’ve been reflecting on how much I love the community we’ve built there. To celebrate our community as well as to find a way in which to help LA, I’ve created a jam recipe for you.
Growing up, every Sunday morning without fail, my parents and I would hike Temescal and then end at the Palisades Farmers Market for a ginger limeade and some tamales. If I was lucky, we’d end at Zumiez or Baskin Robbins (real ones know)… I was addicted to this ginger limeade, so much so that whenever I would visit LA from college, the first order of business was to hit the Santa Monica Wednesday or Saturday Farmer’s Market or the Palisades Sunday Farmer’s Market to get my fix. It’s a true zingy taste of my childhood and one I crave when I’m feeling nostalgic for home.
How does a jam recipe help?
