Happy holidays!! I hope you’re all wrapping up work for the year and able to take a few days to yourself and to be with your loved ones. Over the holidays, I tend to stay offline as much as I can which means that sometimes I forget to share fun recipes with you all… OOPS. This special CHRISTMAS JAM I am sharing with you today is one that I’ve made for my family and friends for the past few years and that I will be making on live TV this weekend on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch!

Say hello to your new go-to festive jam, Mulled Wine Jam.

America loves a grape jam, Europe loves mulled wine, I love both. Although there is no wine in this recipe, I’ve mish mashed all of the warming spices from the drink, captured the coziness of the hot beverage and plopped it into a jar.

If you missed it, you can find my 12 days of cheese + jam pairings here!

Honestly, you can call it whatever you’d like - a Christmas jam, festive jam, holiday helping hand, delicious December something, you do you - it doesn’t matter how or what you celebrate, the jam is scrumptious and a great table conversation starter. I have to warn you though that this jam almost pairs with too much… It’s necessarily a bad thing but it simply means you’ll need to stock up on many jars so that you can use it in a variety of ways throughout your festive meal (and hopefully with leftovers the next day).

Jam Pairings

  • Appetizers: charcuterie board, pigs in a blanket, cheese puffs, spanakopita, parmesan tuile, prosciutto, saucisson, spiced nuts

  • Drinks: seltzer mocktail, gin & tonic, Moscow mule

  • Main course: gammon, turkey, beef Wellington, spinach goat cheese salad,

  • Cheeseboard: because it’s sweet you’ll want to ideally pair it with a saltier cheese with a bit of bite - think manouri, really aged cheddar, pecorino… you could also go blue as long as it’s a punchy, tangy, salty blue like a roquefort or stilton

  • Desserts: rolled into a Yule Log, festive trifle, makeshift mince pie filling, instead of cherries in a Black Forest gateau, vanilla soufflé, pavlova with an unsweetened or creme fraiche whip,

  • Leftovers or breakfast: yogurt bowls, pancake/crepe/waffle/French toast topping, bagels and cream cheese, cheese toastie (add in the candied jalapeños of course), jambon fromage sandwich etc etc etc you know the drill at this point!
