My Mala collaboration: orange blossom, basil and cucumber

I’m so excited to finally be able to announce my limited edition Farmer’s Market inspired candle with Mala!

This collaboration with Mala has been in the works since last autumn and I’m thrilled by how it turned out. Upon first chat, I knew I wanted to create something I wanted in my own home: herby, fresh, & bright… Regardless of the London grey and constant drizzle, I wanted this candle to liven up my living space and remind me of sunnier days.

I love the smell of “green”. In my apartment, my hand soap smells of thyme, my candles of tomato leaf or quince blossom, my washing up liquid of rosemary, perfume and hand cream of orange blossom… When imagining the perfect candle, my Mala collaboration would smell like a combination of all of these fresh smells. I smelled nearly 10 different variations - pear + lemongrass, gooseberry + lemon, tomato vine - but then it hit me: my childhood Farmer’s Market.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve always been drawn to the aroma of orange blossom. Whether this was running around my yard going around smelling the tiny white flowers on each citrus tree or stealing my mom’s Jo Malone orange blossom cologne, the smell always drew me in like an extra strong magnet. Every Saturday, my mom and I would go to the Farmers Market and frolic around picking out produce and smelling California citrus. Could a candle ever encapsulate this memory? Turns out, yes, it could.
