The Story
Over a year ago (wild how quickly time flies), Josu Salt reached out to me to create a salt blend? How lucky was I?! By simply watching my videos online, the team trusted me to create my own flavor mix. There was no doubt in my mind that the blend would incorporate cinnamon & vanilla.
I had been buying vanilla salt and adding cinnamon to it for years. Prior to finding vanilla salt, I’d get vanilla powder and it to some salt and cinnamon. I figured, since I already mix these on the daily, I may as well find a way to combine then all into one singular jar! And that’s exactly what we did.
The response has been beyond belief. With every launch, we’ve sold out within 8-12 hours every time?!? This time around, the lovely Josu team has managed to pack even more jars due to the demand so I hope you will all be able to get your hands on some.
We ground down the classic Josu salt chunks into a finer salt to better incorporate the spice and vanilla. If you haven’t had their salt before, Josu’s tastes incredibly “salty” (yes) and briney. This was a tough challenge when adding the warm flavors to it but I’m proud of the balance we’ve achieved. You don’t need much when adding it to flavor your food, just a little pinch and your tastebuds will thank you.
Now What?
Don’t know what to try it with? Here are some ideas:
